Great location and staff
This hotel is excellent value for money, right opposite the beach, close to all the bars and restaurants but quiet enough youndont hear the night life. We booked breakfast, which had a good choice of fruit, pastries, thai, different eggs, and salad. Coffee machine offering, latte, flat whites etc.. Rooms are a great size, also giving you a day bed, table & 2 chairs and seating on your balcony. The staff are fantastic, always smiling and happy to help. Perfect beach getaway with magnificent staff
Amazing staff, lovely owners, perfection in paradise! My husband and I booked for 6 nights at Karon sea sands for our wedding anniversary and there was an offer available that was good value. We had visited and stayed in Patong last year however wanted more of a beach trip and with the gorgeous Karon beach directly across the road, we thought we would spend 6 nights here then 6 in Patong. We decided around 2 days into our stay that we needed to extend our days I. Karon and tried to book sea sands for a further 6 nights however unsurprisingly, was not available but we were able to have 4 more nights! So we ended up with 10 nights and I cannot speak highly enough of the owners and staff, who made our experience so enjoyable. We were invited to the guests cocktail party on the Friday, where we were welcomed with drinks (beer wine soft drink cocktail) and yummy snacks and were able to mingle with the lovely owners of the resort, Kiran and Jaspal and the hotel guests. I had the misfortune during my trip of having a fall on one of the uneven footpaths nearby (out front of epic - beware!) as I’d been forced over onto the side of path by a family seemingly unwilling to share. Unfortunately, my husband had been running errands and I was unable to get onto him. I fell hard and smashed just above my eyebrow on a rock, which broke my glasses. I had blood gushing down my face and arm and couldn’t see properly and managed to get back to the room but couldn’t see my injury properly due to the blood and so went downstairs in search of some ice - the reception staff were so caring and warm, comforting me when I was obviously in shock - kiran came out and arranged for staff member James to drive me to Karon hospital. James took me in and I was seen immediately however they advised due to my wound I should go to Patong hospital. James drove me there, escorted me in, helped explain the situation and waited while I received 10 stitches, then when I came out he was waiting and drove me home! Such kindness is truly rare and I will be forever grateful. Despite my injury, loved the large spacious room we had, the bottled water to the room daily, the balcony with the clothes drying rack for towels etc - can’t wait to return - thanks again! Lovely hotel with great location
We stayed at the hotel in February 2024. We arrived early and waited until about 1 p.m. for check-in. Everyone is friendly. A deposit of $100 is given upon check-out. The rooms are large and spacious. Everything worked. Gel shampoo was updated as needed. Cleaning every day, towels changed. Breakfast from 6-30. There is enough choice - eggs, meat dishes, cold cuts, fruits, vegetables, etc. Beach across the road. Beach towels were provided. Sun loungers could be rented for 300 baht on the 1st line, 200 from the second. Set of umbrella and 2 sun loungers. On the beach you could buy smoothies and coconuts. Smoothie 80 baht. There are several shops near the hotel, incl. 7/11. A pharmacy, an exchanger with the best exchange rate in the area, is the first one on the right of the hotel. I went to Sunshine for a massage. Clean and civil. Master Linda helped a lot with real back problems. To the left of the hotel about 200 meters there was a market. Good selection of fruits. On the right there is also a sufficient number of fruit points. I liked having dinner at the Chic restaurant (walk to the circle and then to the right about 300 meters). Large selection of fish and seafood and really tasty food. We never got poisoned, we never got stung by jellyfish. We also went to an Irish pub near the hotel. Hotel guests receive a 10% discount. The food is more European/Indian. We went on excursions from Chip. They are more profitable. Taxis used idriver. We flew from Air Arabia with a transfer in Sharjah. Wonderful resort! Loved the big room and balcony, very clean, fantastic pool and facilities, perfect location, welcoming
I traveled to Karon Phuket as a 53 year old female solo traveler for a holiday, for leisure. I choose this resort based on location, proximity to beach and shops and restaurants, and facilities and price. I loved the big room, had everything I needed, a wonderful sized balcony and a window seat. Room was very clean. The staff were very friendly, smiling and helpful. Loved the big pool, perfect water temperature and varying depths. Plenty of deck chairs and a mix of sun and shade places to relax. Pool bar was very handy. The location is perfect. The resort is less than 2 minute walk to the beach. Within 10 minutes walk there are many restaurants and bars, there are multiple 7 Elevens, convenience stores, money exchanges, bars, massage beauty spas, and tour agents all very close. The Phuket Smart Bus stops are very close to the hotel, the bus goes to Patong beach in 10 mins, also to the airport and to Kata beach. Easy to get taxis. The hotel offers taxi bookings too, which I used and was very handy. The room was big, the bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and well maintained. The balcony was a nice size with sitting area and clothes hanger. The resort had a lovely foyer for relaxing and waiting for a tour pickup, great pool and surrounding pool area and garden. There was a gym which I didn't use. The restaurant has buffet breakfast, a great selection of western and Thai food. Was very nice having breakfast in the restaurant. The Wi-Fi was strong and stable. The pool bar closed early some days when there weren’t many people around. The resort has 3 restaurants/bars at the street. I visited 2 of the restaurants/bars, The Irish Pub and the Starz Rooftop bar, they were both fantastic service and great quality food and drinks. The Thursday night cocktail parties by the pool are great for welcoming the guests, meeting the owners and staff and meeting the other guests, like a big family. I highly recommend this resort. Fantastic stay!
We travel quite a bit but it was our first visit to Thailand and Karon Sea Sands Resort suited us very well. The room: Good size of the room. The cleaning was absolutely perfect, I think it's the first time we've experienced that nothing runs out or doesn't work. Superbly good. The bed was comfortable and my partner who likes big pillows was not disappointed. A dressing gown, slippers and beach bag were available to borrow in the room. We got 4 bottles of water every day + coffee & tea. The storage spaces were also good. On our ticket it said that we would have a view of the pool, we didn't but as we were very comfortable in the room we didn't take it up with the hotel. The breakfast: It was simple but it contained exactly what we needed and everything was tasty. Fun with some different Thai dishes. Occasionally the fruit bowls were empty, but it was nothing that bothered us. The coffee from the machine was really good. Plenty of tables and no crowds in connection with breakfast. On one occasion, we ordered a breakfast box, but it was a bit stingy (didn't contain as much as other breakfast boxes we received at other hotels in other countries). The pool area: The area was small but there were always comfortable sunbeds to use, both in the sun and in the shade. Just like in other hotels, some guests were rude and put their towels on sunbeds without being there (for several hours). The pool towels were changed by the cleaning lady without us having to make an effort. Overall, I found the sound of the water games to be a bit disturbing. Especially if you were at the far end of the pool area, it was very noisy. Was it possible to shorten the time they are running or is it perhaps part of the purification process? They also made it difficult if you wanted to practice swimming. Even the mushroom in the bar pool made a lot of noise. Location: Despite the central location, we perceived the hotel as quiet and it was close to the beach/restaurants. The staff: All were service-minded and pleasant. Before leaving, I had read about the cocktail party that the owner invited to. It was a pleasant event where small dishes and drinks were offered. Check-in/check-out: Check-in went well, the room wasn't ready but we were offered a drink and got pool towels straight away so there was no need for us + the room was ready earlier than what was said. The check-out was a little different from what we are used to. The receptionist was going to check the room which meant it took a little extra time and we were a little worried about missing our shuttle bus. However, we understand that the rooms must be checked out, so next time we will simply have to include that in the check-out time calculation. Tips: Missing a tip box in the restaurant/pool bar. How does tipping the cleaning staff work? We left the tip on the desk in the room. Overall, our stay at Karon Sea Sands Resort has been very good. Perfect location, nice pool, clean and friendly...what more could you want?
What a nice and friendly hotel, with a great location right on Karon Beach. The room was spacious, the A/C was powerful, and the bed was huge. We had a pool access room, which was nice: get home from a nice sweaty walk, go straight through the room, and jump in the pool. This is a friendly family-owned hotel with a family-friendly vibe: not that there were a gazillion screaming kids, but there were no drunken stag party-type groups. The location is perfect, right on the main beach street with dozens of food and drink options within ten minutes' walk, but set back just enough from the street that the hotel stays peaceful and quiet. Lovely location and hotel, and fantastic staff
Lovely location at the northern end of Karon beach. Easy access to Patong and Kara if that’s your thing. Plenty of restaurants close by, and right on the beautiful beach. Hotel looks a little dated, but it’s spotless and the staff are magnificent. We stayed in a 2-bed apartment and it was spacious and well maintained. The pool area is lovely, with a swim up bar and long pool. Some of the rooms had direct access to the pool. This is the place!
Spent 2 lovely weeks here in comfort in one of the poolside rooms complete with a bath which tops off my holiday anywhere! The breakfast was plentiful and in a luscious tropical setting. Plenty of pool lounges and shade plus a poolside bar. The welcome cocktail party with the charming owner each week was friendly and inclusive. The beach is across the road and there are plenty of shops and restaurants right outside the lane way entrance which shields you from the noise. I wouldn’t bother looking anywhere else to stay at Karon Beach which is a 10 minute trip away from the craziness of Patong. Highly recommend this place. We’ll be back for sure.
